10 Tips to Design Memorable Logos
Things to Avoid While Designing a Logo
1. Ignoring the importance of color palette

Colors have a psychological effect on viewer’s mind so you should never underestimate the importance of colors. Also, in order to come up with a perfect color palette, you should know your product very well so that you can use accordingly. If you are designing a logo for a youth brand, it should have vibrant colors. Use colors accordingly and give the importance color palette deserves.
2. Excess experimentation is a big NO

As mentioned earlier, one should keep things simple. You should be innovative but excess of anything is bad. If your logo is unique and attractive, it might not represent the brand very well. You have to keep a balance of everything so, design a logo that represents the brand and looks attractive.
3. Ignoring Typography’s importance

In most cases, a logo is designed without typography. However, if you plan to use typography, make sure it is customized. I know there are hundreds of fonts available over the internet but instead of choosing one of them, go for custom lettering. Coca Cola is one fine example of such logos.
4. Never allow predictability

There are certain brands whose logos can get predictable because of the products associated with them. If you get to design a logo for any such brand, try not to get predictable. To design something different and unexpected from what the people already expect from your brand.
5. Clichés are boring

Yes, there are certain trends that you can follow for logo designing but do not go for clichés. They get very boring for people without any doubt. I personally dislike seeing the same kind of logos every now and then. I believe instead of following the trend, set a new trend.
Conclusion
The above mentioned tips can definitely help you in coming up with a creative logo. However, everyone has his own unique way of getting inspired and designing something. So feel free to share the tips you have for designing a creative logo and let others benefit from it.

Designing a logo takes plenty of talent creative thinking. Thanks for the sharing.
Not only that, it also takes following the rules and breaking them occasionally, even though that’s a cliche itself. There are many things beside the talent of the designer, that make for a good logo – and most of them you need to understand and practice, practice, practice. People often forget that a logo should be scalable and reproducible on different media and also in black and white and even monochrome and go for fancy gradients, transparencies and shadows, which, though looking really good, makes the logo unusable.
